We are having a heat-wave of sorts. I think today will be the 65th day of 90 or above temps and more is predicted. Plus it's been dry, very dry. We need cooler weather and rain would be welcome.

5:41am temp in the mid 70s. It's still dry. They says this is the driest sept ever since records have been kept. Could be the driest month ever of any month.

We finally cooled down, in the 80s today. It's a pleasant relief. Still no rain. Since August we've had .04 inches of rain.

I see, well the mild winters sounds good. The mild Winters are terrific. One of my jobs is being a window cleaner. I can wash windows all year 'round. (Can't wash windows when it goes below freezing.) Yes, many people have moved down here to escape the cold Winters up north. And of course, everybody has air conditioning. And the heat doesn't bother everybody. Some people love it. It didn't use to bother me when I was young. But the older I get, the more I am sick of it. On the other hand, I hear people from up north say, "You think the heat is bad --- try dealing with below freezing temperatures, shoveling snow, chipping ice, black ice . . . every winter. I guess it gets old after while.

But for 5 months straight every year, we don't go below 80 degrees Fahrenheit. And with the high humidity levels, our heat index ranges from 130 to 95. Not to mention the sweaty, sticky uncomfortableness. On the other hand, I would assume on those hot days, you guys cool off at night. Not with us. You go outside in New Orleans at 4 o'clock in the morning (in the Summer) and it's still 85 degrees with a heat index of 95.

Not sure I would like the warm nights.
Were you caught in that flooding a few years back?

Not sure I would like the warm nights. Were you caught in that flooding a few years back? I have been living in New Orleans for 60 years. I have never been a victim of hurricane damage (or flooding). The national news always makes catastrophes seem worse than they actually are. Well, if you decide to visit New Orleans, come between October and March inclusively. You will be guaranteed mild weather. (Actually September and April are usually pretty good. Maybe a little warm. But not brutally hot.)

Ok, thanks for the tip.
Every place has it's good and bad side. I guess here is as good as anywhere else so I guess I'll stay here.
