The flu killed my father. He would get the flu shot every year but he got stubborn and wouldn't the flu shot. He got the flu, it went into pneumonia and then into heart failure. Then he was gone. If you get the A type flu no one will have to talk you into getting a flu shot next year.

Every time I have gotten a flu shot, I got the flu. I was told if I hadn't gotten the shot, it would've worse. Maybe, maybe not.
All I know is, it's been almost four years since I got one and I haven't even caught a cold since (knock on wood), let alone the flu.

You didn't have the A type flu or you would have been first in line the next year.

And LQQk here you may have had a virus. Did a doctor tell you you had the flu or is that your diagnosis?

A reminder to get the flu shot.
Something is already going around here in Ky. I know several people that are sick. Can you believe it and so early. I pray this will be a mild flu and cold winter. For the last two years I've gotten sick.

Like I said earlier in this thread. I have not gotten a cold or flu ever since I stopped getting the flu shot, which was almost four years ago. I always got one after I got a flu shot. I have no idea if there's a correlation and wouldn't suggest people stop getting it, but that's what I've experienced.
Someone said that the flu shot doesn't always cover the particular strain that is going around. It's a crapshoot sometimes.

But if I lay in a bed this winter dying of pneumonia because I have the flu. I will know I did everything I knew to do to prevent it. I got the flu shot and the pneumonia shot.
