That would be Brussel sprouts. Cut ends off then slice down the middle. Sauté sliced side down in bacon fat (does anybody else save their bacon fat for later use?) for a couple minutes. Then add a couple tbs. of water, cover, and turn the heat off. I like mine less well done than Donnadub so take mine out first. Then sprinkle with a homemade flavored vinegar. (Does anybody make flavored vinegars?) my fave is garlic red. Just skewer a row of peeled garlic and slip into a cool bottle you have saved. Fill with red wine vinegar. Let sit for a few months. So good.

So good. I make them similar to that but with out the vinegar. I just put butter, salt and pepper on them. So good!

Growing up with a German mom and Dutch/German dad we put vinegar on all the brassicas. I make my own sauerkraut now. The one with caraway seeds is very popular.

I love them like that. Here is a picture I got off the internet showing you what mine look like. They are so good!

No. Donnadub makes a mean cabbage roll. She has an Irish-Croatian blend. I have made them too but not for many years. Yours look mighty good!
