"Ocean temperatures hit highest levels ever recorded " "A new study has revealed not just how warm our ocean's have gotten, but that they continue to do so at an accelerated pace " According to the team's analysis, the temperature of the oceans in 2019 were around 0.075° C (0.135° F) above the 1981-2010 average. To put that into units of energy required to generate that warmth, the scientists calculate that the ocean has soaked up 228,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (228 sextillion) joules of heat. "That's a lot of zeros indeed," says Lijing Cheng, lead author and associate professor at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics. "To make it easier to understand, I did a calculation. The Hiroshima atom-bomb exploded with an energy of about 63,000,000,000,000 Joules. The amount of heat we have put in the world's oceans in the past 25 years equals to 3.6 billion Hiroshima atom-bomb explosions. This measured ocean warming is irrefutable and is further proof of global warming. There are no reasonable alternatives aside from the human emissions of heat trapping gases to explain this heating."
The scientists also looked at the last six or so decades of ocean warming, comparing the 1955-1986 period to the years between 1987 and 2019. The data revealed that the recent period was around 450 percent more severe, illustrating not just how the oceans (and planet) continue to warm, but how they are doing so at an accelerating pace.
"It is critical to understand how fast things are changing," says John Abraham, co-author and professor of mechanical engineering at the University of St. Thomas in the United States. "The key to answering this question is in the oceans – that's where the vast majority of heat ends up. If you want to understand global warming, you have to measure ocean warming."
More than 90 percent of global warming since 1970 has been absorbed by the oceans, according to the team. This has implications for the severity of tropical storms and weather, rising sea levels and marine life. Australia's Great Barrier Reef, which recently endured a string of severe bleaching events and vast coral die-offs, is one example.
"The price we pay is the reduction of ocean-dissolved oxygen, the harmed marine lives, strengthening storms and reduced fisheries and ocean-related economies," Cheng said. "However, the more we reduce greenhouse gasses, the less the ocean will warm. Reduce, reuse and recycle and transferring to a clean energy society are still the major way forward."

There has been climate change since the formation of the planet.
Economists say the effects of climate change can be controlled. All they need to do is raise taxes. Of course, they're liberals.

Can you name these economists and provide quotes of them saying this, or is this another one of those statements you make when you don’t have an educated response? Some would call it talking out your ass.

EDIT: Scroll down and find the name 'Conny Olovsson'. You can hear him say it himself: www.frbsf.org/economic-research/events/2019/november/economics-of-climate-change/

Some scientists say that we are at a tipping point for global warming and that further warming will become a runaway global warming that will be unstoppable. "Climate scientists have long warned about a global warming tipping point, when the planet reaches a threshold of irreversible climate change and the worst effects—extreme drought, sea level rise, monster wildfires and hurricanes—become not the exception but the norm. Some experts once projected such a threshold could happen in the 22nd century or beyond. But according to a raft of new studies, that tipping point could be as close as 40 years away. The latest, a Columbia Engineering report published in Nature this week, projects that the planet’s capacity to take in the carbon dioxide, and in particular that produced by human activity—such as the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation—could begin to decline starting in 2060. If those projections prove true, it would create a destructive land-atmosphere feedback loop that could dramatically accelerate the worst effects of global warming." www.sierraclub.org/sierra/climate-could-hit-tipping-point-sooner-you-thinkWe can examine the qualifications and publications of the scientists that Heeeey can find and compare them to the scientists who are published in science journals (this, to real scientists, is a pre-requisite for consideration) who warn of the tipping point leading to irreversible global warming. Conny Olovsson has no climate scientist credentials. He has not successfully published any scholarly works on climate science. I dare to speculate that he has no degree in climate science, or math or chemistry, biology, or zoology, or even meteorology. Here is his education from his bio Education Ph.D., Economics, Institute for International Economic Studies, Stockholm University, 2004 Master of Social Science, Stockholm University, 1998 We can dismiss his ideas as hogwash, intended to further the use of fossil fuels and to generate short term profits from those enterprises. I look forward to researching Heeeey's authorities.

And I'm sure his ideas (along with all those other economists) are agreeable to the liberals in charge of pushing an agenda to use climate change as a reason to impose more taxes.

The conservative (and I use the term loosely) Trump, does not use climate change as a reason to impose more taxes, and yet our national debt is increasing by a trillion dollars each year now. Reasonable people don't ask a banker to do heart surgery. An economist is not acceptable to liberals for advice about climate change. Your assurance that liberals will accept his opinions about climate change remains to be proven. Please continue to try. So far you have failed. I produced evidence from climate science, that we are nearing a tipping point leading to irreversible global warming. Liberals pay attention to experts, in this case climate scientists, unlike conservatives, who arrogantly deprecate the value of an education in science. Trump can't even do basic math. It is no wonder that he has had to file for bankruptcy more than once. Back in 2006, the radio host Howard Stern gave Donald Trump, his daughter Ivanka and his son Donald Jr. a little on-the-air math test that's worth recalling on a day when Trump is tossing around a curious number. "You went to the Wharton School of Business?" Stern asked Donald Jr. "Yes," Donald Jr. responded. "What's 17 times 6?" As Trump's son struggled for an answer, his sister began to laugh. "What is it? Do you need a calculator?" she inquired, chuckling. "96?" Donald Jr. asked, taking stabs at answers. "94?" "Wrong," Stern said. "Wrong!" "That's not a practical application," Ivanka responded, coming to her brother's rescue. That prompted Stern to ask Ivanka to multiply 17 times 6 for him. Before she could respond, her father decided to bail out the family. "It's 1,112," Trump said, pronouncing his answer "eleven-twelve." He nodded confidently toward Stern, missing the correct answer, 102, by 1,010. www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2018-06-05/trump-just-flunked-another-math-test

That said, if you had been a little more specific, and said "impose a carbon tax" it would have made a little more sense than saying "all you have to do is raise taxes", as if me paying more sales tax on my beer was going to matter.

We haven't had any severe weather this summer. I guess that's good news.
