FYI: Sydney has transferred the forum back to me, so as of today, I am back as being the owner/admin of this forum.
Also, admin posts from 06/28/2020 to 03/28/2021 were posted by Sydney, the co-admin who owned the admin account during that time span. That's why you might see some posts that are not consistent with my posts, such as anti-Trump posts, etc.

that explains why the forum is basically dead. To tell you the truth this forum does indeed appear "dead". According to the stats below this forum has 215 members, where are they? Judging by past posts/threads this place was fairly active at one time, what happened?

Judging by past posts/threads this place was fairly active at one time, what happened? It's a long story. Grab a cup of coffee and have a seat. All of us were on the IMDb.com message boards. A troll from Pakistan who called himself 'Ben Ceasar' began to troll the Soapbox there, doxxing members, being hateful, because the moderation was automated. He would submit complaints and get people's threads deleted, etc. I saw the writing on the wall, and moved to the Politics board there, but he had already ruined the Soapbox. That's when I decided to create this forum. A lot of the members on IMDb.com registered and it was very active at first. I even had two moderators. Some of my enemies there came here and spammed the place with porn, etc. But other than that, it was moving along nicely. Shortly after that, the new owner of the IMDb.com site, Jeff Bezos, shut down the boards. Some stranger named John Carter (JC) who is the admin of IMDbv2, popped up out of nowhere with a forum ready. His forum looked like a duplicate of the closed boards. The majority of members migrated to that board. Some went to other boards. The ones who registered here just stopped posting. The reason why the thread count is low is because when I was learning how to run things on the forum, I mistakenly deleted hundreds of posts...mostly on the Music board, while I was rearranging the forum.

It's a long story. Grab a cup of coffee and have a seat. Thanks for that very good and comprehensive explanation. So what would you say is the future for this forum going forward?

I guess it'll be here long after I'm gone. It's gone dormant for months at one time. The co-admin here, Sydney, was the only one posting here at one time, along with some troublemaker 'guests' when it was open to guests.

I still like to post here and I would encourage others to do so as well. I find that these boards are very useful, I've taught myself how to use them, run them etc. Along with public chat with others. How to conduct a constructive conversation without offending others.

Yes, I'm self-taught too. I knew nothing about how to create a forum when I first started.
