This is a limited series TV show on Netflix about a serial killer in Denmark.
I thought everything was good about this show except the way the police are portrayed --- as incompetent nincompoops.
- Police investigator Hess goes down in a cellar to investigate without backup. He gets beaten up by a suspect who pounds him into unconsciousness. He immediately emerges with no bruises, cuts or broken bones.
- His partner interrupts this suspect, at gunpoint orders him to open the door to the cellar where Hess is trapped. The suspect opens the door and is now being held at gunpoint by two police investigators. But he manages to close the door to the cellar and hit the partner with a bookcase knocking her down where she drops her gun. The suspect escapes.
- A lady is attacked and injured in her house. She manages to escape and run through the woods behind her house just as police pull up. The police have dogs to chase the attacker and try to save the woman. The police and dogs go one way, Thulin and Hess go another and find the woman dead with two hands cut off and one foot. How unable are those police dogs at tracking?
- Police investigator Thulin realizes Genz is The Chestnut Man. She pulls her gun on him while his back is turned to her. She gets so close he manages to disarm her and render her unconscious with chloroform.
- Thulin escapes being taped up in a bathtub, escapes through a window, breaks into the suspects car, and obtains his gun. She re-enters the house to save the social minister and arrest the suspect. She is immediately knocked out, drops the gun, and is tied up in his car.
- Thulin is tied up in the backseat while suspect Genz is driving. She attacks him, he throws her in the front seat and knocks her out.
- Genz is driving straight at Hess. Hess opens fire. The car goes from about 40 feet to 10 feet from Hess as he is firing. He misses every shot.
The acting, dialogue, cinematography, and plot are good. I found it interesting and entertaining. I would have given it a 10. But the police are portrayed so poorly it should be an insult to police worldwide.
8/10 for me.
