First of all, after reading other reviews at the old IMDb, I'm happy to see I'm not the only one who --- in the original series --- thought the sister Debra was the most annoying character in the history of TV. If she wasn't cursing like a chainsaw in a way that would make most sailors cringe, she was overreacting with hysteria everytime someone turned up dead. That would be bad enough. But she was a policewoman who advanced to detective. "Think maybe you were in the wrong line of work?"
Well, she's back. As Dexter's alter ego, who he talks to when no one's around. So far, I've only seen the first five episodes. I find it mildly entertaining with mildly interesting characters. But it's not without plot holes.
In episode1, Dexter kills the irresponsible rich kid who supposedly got away with killing kids in a boating accident. (By the way, I've never seen anybody hunt deer by sprinting through the woods.) But Dexter kills him without checking to see if there are any witnesses. Even though the victim, up until this point, was never alone. He was always in the company of his gang of sycophants.
Then he surprisingly finds out there are security cameras out there that show the police the victim was not alone when he disappeared. So what does Dexter do? He returns to the scene of the crime to dance around, painting the crime scene with the victim's coat supposedly to confuse the police dogs. What happened to the security cameras? Were they turned off? Did somebody remove them? Did nobody ever check them again? (By the way, what happened to the dogs? Were they misled by Dexter's dancing around? Never addressed.)
In episode 5 Dexter is in the process of killing the man suspected of providing the drugs that killed high school students, and almost killed Dexter's son, when the police pull up. So --- between the time the police pull up, and the time they enter the house, Dexter kills the suspect with a forced inhaled overdose of drugs, removes the plastic that protects the kill room from blood splatter, removes the plastic wrap that holds the suspect down before Dexter kills him, redresses the dead suspect's naked body, and carries his dead body downstairs and props him up in his office chair to make it look like the suspect killed himself. Seems logistically and humanly impossible.

I could be wrong, but it seemed in the original series, Dexter only killed criminals who had beaten the system by escaping prosecution or conviction, with lots of pre planning. But in this series, he's killing people out of vengeance with little or no planning, before the system ever gets to them.
I may change my rating if I watch the remaining 5 episodes.
7/10 for me.
