We are over run with these things over here. I can't let the dogs out with out watching them.

I kind of feel sorry for them and foxes. I guess because they're so close to the dog family.

I saw three young pups playing in a fairway on a golf course earlier in the summer. I was playing golf, not them. I've nearly hit a couple crossing a nearby road. Most of them around here seem pretty scrawny.

Scrawny? You've not seen the ones I've seen. I came out of KFB one night and there were 2 walking across the parking lot. One behind the other, the second one stopped and stared at me. I also stopped, I knew I could get back in the door before he could reached me. He turned and went on his way, I was too skinny and he threw me back I guess.
It's easy to distinguish them from dogs. Most look like a smaller version of a German Shepard with a huge bushy tail. Not all look the same, they have mixed with dogs and wolves.

Coyotes

We see an occasional red fox in our yard, since squirrels feed there, on the ground. I don't mind squirrels, but I try to keep the deer away, since they eat a lot more than squirrels, and a single deer can clean out a bird feeder in a few minutes.
The deer are huge. In Summer and Spring, they wreak havoc on the bushes and flowers.
There are rumours of coyotes around here, but I have not seen any yet.
