Drivers not turning their heads to see if anybody is coming, before they pull out, or away from the curb. That actually happens IRL. A few weeks ago, some bitch almost backed into me. She didn't even look back. That happens a lot in parking lots. People exit the Starbucks where I live without even stopping or looking for oncoming cars. I'm surprised there hasn't been an accident yet. You live at Starbucks? In your car or do you have a sleeping bag in the bushes?

I'm surprised there hasn't been an accident yet. It's amazing to me how bad of a driver some people are. I had just bought a new car 3 years ago. I intentionally parked way out in the middle of nowhere to protect my new car. I was washing windows at a dentist office. The young receptionist backed out of her parking place, all the way across the parking lot, with me standing there watching --- and into my car. She was very nice. She immediately gave me all her insurance information and her company paid for all my damage. But come on. What do I need to do?

movieliker, I just saw another one the other day. Someone refers to a poem they learned a long time ago, and they recite the poem or quote word for word. Now, maybe it's just me, but I don't know anyone who has memorized a poem and can recite word for word on the spot. I was watching a scene from a movie the other day. Not only did one person recite a poem from memory, but the other person finished it. What are the odds of that happening IRL? I could maybe recite a song lyric, but not a poem from high school.

Biological dad is portrayed as divorced, irresponsible, having job and money problems --- but really loves his children.
Biological mother is portrayed as having to choose between her ex-husband who is irresponsible, having job and money problems --- but really loves his children. And a rich, occupationally and financially successful asshole who sees her as just another check on his accomplishment list (obligatory or trophy wife).
She settles for the rich, successful guy because he can take care of her children.
This is kissing up to all the loser women in the prospective audience who are single, and claim they can't find any good men out there.

People moving something heavy up or down a flight of stairs. The person or people on top get distracted, and let go. The heavy thing slides down the stairs crushing the person or people on the bottom.

People are running for their lives. And one turns to another and says, "Wait, there is something I need to tell you."

Two or more people have something top secret to talk about. So they go to a crowded bar or restaurant where they can be easily overheard. And they pull out evidence that can be easily seen by others.

Cheating spouse communicates with their lover by texts on their cellphone. Which they leave around the house for their wife or husband to see when they are not around.

A woman discovers a dead body and screams.
I don't think that ever happens IRL unless it's her child.

A woman discovers a dead body and screams. I don't think that ever happens IRL unless it's her child. That reminds me, a shootout occurs and everybody runs like chickens with their heads cut off, screaming. In real life, people get scared, but they get quiet, and either run or hide. They typically don't go full hysteria. And somebody falls from a great height. And they yell, "AAAAAAAaaaaaaa" all the way down. In real life, people are so afraid, they can't make a sound.

That's true. They scream until they hit bottom.

People having sex for the first time, falling asleep knocked out from exhaustion or no consideration.
One participant sneaking around while the other is unconscious. Leaving them with no thank you note or goodbye.
I've had plenty of one night stands. Never once have I fallen asleep afterwards. Or awoken to a missing sex mate, or my partner doing things while I'm asleep.
I'm not saying it never happens. But this a "lazy fall to" cliche in too many movies and TV shows.

Here's one that I've seen fairly often in movies an on TV: the guy gets a black eye or beaten up from a fight, and the woman love interest sees it and gives him the "oh, you poor baby" treatment.
