When somebody gets hit by a car, truck or bus --- the car, truck, or bus doesn't slow down or put their brakes on. They just blow their horn and run over them.

Instead of verbalizing information, characters in movies and TV shows are intentionally vague. To create contrived and unnecessary mystery and drama.
Phone call, "There is something I need to tell you. Meet me 8PM at so and so restaurant."
Only to find out that information could easily, effectively and efficiently been told in a statement over the phone. Or in a text.

In a horror movie, whenever it is obvious it's safest for the good guys to stay together, they decide for some stupid reason to split up.

Probably every old Sci-Fi movie ever made consists of a group of men and one young, pretty woman. I have no idea why that is, but it's a common meme. It's the rare movie that has two women, and they usually don't get along.

It's amazing to me how many of the jokes in Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men depended on characters unrealistically never locking their doors.
The Big Bang Theory took place in LA. Nobody locked their apartment doors even though they lived in an apartment building with no security.
Two and Half Men often had jokes where people would walk in on people in the bathroom or in their bedrooms having sex.
I never watched Friends, but I believe they had many jokes based on people never locking their doors. They lived in New York City.
Has there ever been a time when Los Angeles and New York City didn't have crime?
Penny of Big Bang Theory lived alone and the three girls of Friends lived alone.
Not to mention the characters of Big Bang Theory and Friends never closed their blinds or curtains. The building the characters of Friends was surrounded by other high rises. And you can see other buildings in the background of the building the characters of Big Bang Theory lived in.
Last but not least, the characters of Big Bang Theory never locked their car doors. You could see the door lock buttons in the up position. Isn't LA the birthplace of carjackings?

He is shown locking his front door with a couple of deadbolt locks, yet in most episodes, Kramer walks right in. I've never watched BBT, but those kids look like they stay out of the bad parts of town. I suppose there are still some people who don't lock their car doors. Never saw a damned thing funny about Friends, and I watched a few episodes to see if I was missing something. Never understood its popularity. Them, or Home Improvement.

No matter how off the grid a character is, whenever the government wants to find them, government agents just show up with guns, police, military or suits to insinuate the government always knows where everybody is all the time.

If were made today, there would have to be one black 'friend' in the cast.

movieliker, here's one I haven't seen yet: Someone receives a package and asks the person who gives it to him/her, "What's in it?" The other person always has to tell him/her to open it and find out.

They also don't mind walking alone down dark empty streets. And never turning around to see who's following.

And characters not checking the caller ID before answering the phone. Often saying the wrong thing to the wrong person. Or being afraid it's someone other than who's calling.

movieliker, don't know if this one's been mentioned, but whenever someone is running away from someone or something chasing him/her, that person will ALWAYS trip and fall, and usually have trouble getting up.
